Annual Update - 2025
Well, it's one of, if not, my favorite golf course in Northeast WI and they also have great food. From the awesome fish fry that you get on Friday's (perfect spot if you're Catholic and need a place to go during Lent), to the awesome french fries they serve (fun fact, they are seasoned waffle fries; YUM!!), or how about the wings, wraps, or pizzas. Yes they have a good selection of food, in a great atmosphere, especially the outdoor patio in nice weather!! AND get yourself a grasshopper to cap off your meal!!

As a resident of De Pere and avid part-time/thinks-he's-great golfer, I am a fan of Hilly Haven. It's a beautiful course to play and my wife Kathryn & I have enjoyed many round of golf here. But we have also enjoyed many meals here as well and as we approached the Lent season I thought it was time for me to create a new category of restaurants for the food blog. This is the inaugural post for the Fish Fry category, and I have to start with Hilly Haven because I'll be there on Friday, January 26, which is the day this post will go live as the January 2023 #FridayFeature.

I mean what better place to go and enjoy a fish fry than one of your favorite golf courses. And when I was talking with my co-workers about this I was sent a photo from NextHome's very own Lily Heddaoui who used to be a bartender/server there. Here she is serving up five fish fry plates and loving life becuase she knows how awesome the perch plate is at Hilly Haven.

Now yes, this first post for Hilly Haven is to call out the amazing perch plate they have which I actually had less than 3 weeks ago when a friend was in town from North Carolina. So yeah, I'll be here twice in a one month span, but who cares because here in Northeast WI we know how to enjoy a good fish fry, along with an old fashioned or Spotted Cow. And the bonus at Hilly Haven, you can top the fish fry off with an amazing grasshopper after you've cleared your plate #CleanPlateClub.

But I will also add that Hilly Haven make another category on my Food Blog and that is the French Fries category. The seasoned waffle fries that Hilly Haven has are some of the best fries in the area, trust me you'll want to get these with every meal in the future. They pair well with fish, with wraps, with the wings, and even as a side with the quesadilla. The food at Hilly Haven is a great option for dinner after a round of golf, or simply as a change of scenery for dinner on a random evening without golf. All the employees are great and provide top notch service whether enjoying a beer on the course, at the bar, or having a meal there with friends.
