A Sampling of Flavor (Taste of India)

Annual Update - 2025
This is easily my favorite spot to grab Indian food for lunch because the portions are perfectly sized in the sampler platter to enjoy the right amount of quality food. The atmosphere in this spot is great and it's still on my short list for spots to take my wife on a dinner date because sadly it hasn't happened yet. But we aren't planning to move any time soon, so we'll make it happen.

Last week Wednesday was not my first time at Taste of India, nor will it be my last, but it was a first for a good friend of mine. And he left with the knowlege that he likes and appreciates Indian food. The flavor and spices used make for an amazing meal that you are not going to want to stop enjoying.

Now for those of you that have not had Indian food before, think it's not for you, or had poor qualify Indian food let me personally recommend Taste of India. Why? Because it's set up to do exactly what's in the name, give you a taste. For lunch they have a special that provides you with three different options, along with a side of rice and a small serving of the dessert of the day. I mean, it's perfect, take a chance on trying something new but instead try three different items and realize you like all three.

So let me paint you the picture of my friend, we'll call him Greg! I get to Taste of India and immediately decide I want to treat myself with a Mango Lassi, so I do just that. Greg walks in, sits down and says, "Bro what is that?!?!" So I tell him and he immediately orders one for himself because I promise him he won't be disappointed, and sure enough he was not disappointed.

And now it's time to order food, so I place my order and immediately decided to go with an order of Chicken Tikka Masala, Pork Pasanda, & Dal Tadka. I knew this would be good as I've tried them all before and I had a sneaking suspicion of what would happen next....

"I'll have the same!"

Is all I heard from across the table, which made sense because Greg had never had Indian food, so this was a smart choice. We talked, laughed, swapped stories and enjoyed community with each other prior to the food coming out. Once the food came out, this all continued with the added sounds of Greg exclaiming how much he enjoyed the food and wanted to continue trying more.

I'll be completely honest the next statement Greg said was, "when are we coming here again?" And I said we needed to schedule something ASAP. I thoroughly enjoy the lunch at Taste of India, and have to be honest I've never been there for dinner, so it's near the top of my list. But Taste of India is not the only awesome Indian restaurant in the Green Bay area, and I have to be honest I haven't explored Indian cuisine in the Appleton area, so I have some work to do. I guess you'll just have to stay tuned for more updates and eventually a separate category once I have a few more spots.

But I can say the next stop for Indian cuisine in my blog will be Bhavan!
