Happy New Year (#FridayFeature) - 2026
It didn't take me long to figure out what restaurant would be my #FridayFeature for January 2026. My wife & I have been to several restaurants (check out the Post) since giving birth to our son in early December 2025; and all have been gracious with him. Some time he has slept the entire time in his carrier and others he has woken up and needed to eat, or simply be held (#BabiesGonnaBaby).

But something was different about our time at Brickhouse in early January when we headed out to dinner with some family for a great meal! My son decided to be "fussy" on the way there so we didn't get into the restaurant right away, but that's okay. My family ordered the Brickhouse Onions, which is a literal looking brick of deep fried onions served with a spicy sauce; and well it was mostly gone by the time we got inside haha. Everyone already had drinks from the amazing beer list that Brickhouse offers and within a minute of sitting down our waitress showed up and was very gracious about our delay. We placed our drink order and then perused the menu for bit. Ultimately I ordered the "Bit of Heat" burger, but got it with chicken instead (just a personal preference on this day, the burgers are great). It was just what I needed, and everyone patiently waited for their food to arrive.

And wouldn't you know it after 15 or so minutes of fun conversation the food arrived...... and Baby Kroll woke up hahaha. What perfect timing for my wife who at the time was only nursing. And here is why Brickhouse is my #FridayFeature this month.

Shoutout to Brickhouse!! She went over to a corner and privately was able to feed our son, and no one bothered her. I went back and forth bringing her some of her food, and beverage, and during one of these times our waitress stopped me. She felt bad that my wife's food was not going to be warm and I reassured her all was well. She was defensive of my wife and her right to nurse in public and was happy to support her nursing at the table. Now I will say my wife would have been fine doing this, as she has fed him in public before but he was being a bit extra fussy on this night so being secluded help as he was wining.

My reason for having Brickhouse as my #FridayFeature this month is not simply because they have great food; no it's because they have an amazing team who showed care & grace for my wife in a situation that would generally stress many people out. This spot is worth checking out simply to meet and support the team, while also enjoying the food!!

2025 Year End Update
Well, it's been a while since I've been to Brickhouse, and that's because there are so many great restaurants in Northeast WI and I can't get to them all frequently. And that is sad because the burgers here are top notch and they come with great fries, maybe my favorite fries in the area. So who wants to go check this out with me in the New Year?

#FridayFeature - August 2024
It's been a while since I've posted for this restaurant, but that hasn't stopped me from visiting. It just means I've been enjoying food, helping people buy & sell homes, and enjoying life!

I recently went to lunch at Brickhouse and had nothing going on for the afternoon so I enjoyed a meal and conversation with the bartender. First and foremost, the name says it all when you take in the spot from the exterior!!
                                                       

It didn't take me long to peruse the menu and determine what I wanted but I did have to take in all the burgers on the menu because they are all so tasy. I was tempted to go for the Crab Rangoon Burger, which is creative & unique but instead I went with an old faithful....
                               

I went with the Cali-Bian but asked them to add a fried egg to the sandwich. I mean why not add to the mess of this delicious burger by putting an egg on it. Yes, this burget is a mess to eat, but that's the sign of a fun & tasty burger. This thing was a treat to eat and the perfect burger because once picked up, you can't put it down. And if you know a good burger you know that's not because it was so tasty, no because the toppings were falling out so you have to hold that grip the entire time and enjoy it. Oh and it also tasted great so I didn't want to put it down either with all those flavorful additions!!!

Now me, I'm not a pickle fan, not sure why but it's one of the few foods I actually don't like, but I know many people are a fan. Why am I talking about pickles when I am sharing with you my experience at a burger joint. Well because when you are welcomed to your seat by one of the friendly staff members at Brickhouse, you are greeted with a plate of pickles; three different flavors actually. It's a nice little starter for those of you that do like pickles because from what I hear they are tasty and hey, it's something different.

But let's move on from pickles and talk about burgers because burgers are a great meal, and Brickhouse has some amazing options:

• A Bit of Heat - I like spicy food, when it has flavor and this burger is packed with good flavorful heat! Jalapeno poppers and Srarcha aoli sauce along with Caribbean Red Jack cheese; my mouth is watering just thinking about this burger. Oh and I guess I should have started with this, but the size of the burger is no joke; you'll need a 2 PM nap if you go here for lunch so be ready folks.
• Egg-celent - Ha, what a fun play on words. But yes, just like pineapple belongs on pizza, eggs belong on a burger. And this burger adds homemade bacon to the toppings list and a sweet & spicy maple sauce, so I mean come on, why aren't you on your way now.
• Southwest BBQ Pulled Pork - If you read my review of Hinterland, then you know I'm a sucker for a pulled port sandwich. Umm, combine that with a burger & a black bean corn salsa and you have a winner.
• The Mac-n-Cheesy - Alright folks time to carbo load for the race..... NOT. I lift weights, I'm not big into cardio lol. So this is one that'll require a couple extra sets at the gym tomorrow because it's a good size burger with a scoop of pan-fried cheddar mac & cheese on top (with bacon).

But Brickhouse doesn't just have great burgers... yes, I'm going to spend a sentence or two telling you about the fries. First, the classic fries are a great option that'll be tough to beat, but Brickhouse will hook you for a couple extra bucks. You have to upgrade to the Garlic Parm or White Truffle fries, or better yet you order one and whoever you're with should get the other; then share. Hey I know you remember your kindergarten lesson of sharing is caring, so I recommend that option.

And finally, the beer because you need something to wash down this amazing burger and fries combo. Brickhouse has an extensive list of craft beers both on tap and available in can/bottle for your enjoyment. The menu is descriptive and like I said, extensive, so plan ahead because you're going to want more than one beer while you're here.

Overall, Brickhouse offers a delicious meal with tasty drinks but the atmosphere is also an inviting one. They have several TVs to enjoy a game while you're eating, or you can sit on the outdoor patio and soak up some sun in the summer. They even do live music on the patio during the summer, so call your friends and head out to Brickhouse for a good meal and a good time.
