A Sunday Chicken Dinner, a wedding on a Saturday night, a Friday Fish Fry..... mmhhhmmmm three great reasons to go to Van Abel's. But the main reason is the atmosphere, the nostalgia, the service, and the quality food. This isn't fancy, but it's been perfected for years to the point that some would say it's the perfect Sunday Chicken Dinner. And I've had plenty of Friday Fish Fry's here and I can tell you it's always great.
And I've been to weddings and other events at Van Abel's and this building just keeps going. They have done remodels over the years and the old bar with the Simpsons arcade game is no longer there, and the bowling alley has been replaced, but the structure is the same and it still has that classic feel to it in the air when you walk in.
There is so much to love about Van Abel's including the dessert platter that accompanies many meals here and you better be quick to get your choice so your cousin doesn't beat you to the scotcheroo. Yes, I have countless family memories here and they make me smile thinking about all the years going to Van Abel's which has been a staple in my family for as long as I can remember.
I'm sure if you've been you also have a favorite family memory here so I'll ask, what's yours? Mine might just be getting to be at my grandpas 70th high school class reunion and seeing all the former Kaukauna graduates in the room but getting to see some members of his class and others near his generation was pretty darn amazing. Yes, I love Van Abel's!!
