Ahh a good supper club dinner; it's just what the doctor orders now and then for me. And weekly for others!! This is something you only get in the State of Wisconsin and it's quite nostalgic for sure. You can always feel the concept of a good supper club in the air when you walk in and understand what you are in for....
From starting with a drink at the bar before heading to your table, the nostalgia just continues each step of the process. All supper clubs have this as the starting point, and I mean come on how smart of them. Walk in get a drink, enjoy time with friends & family in the bar, and lighten the air with good conversation before being taken to your table.
Once at your table it's time to decide on food. And the first question you have to ask is what day of the week is it? If it's Friday, a fish fry every time is what the doctor calls for; and you may get perch, haddock, cods, scallops, or shrimp at most. For me at The Rite Place it's all about the deep fried perch along with fries and a piece of rye toast. It's the same order every time and it tastes the same every time, which makes sense as it's been perfected over may years. If it's not Friday then you could do a prime rib on Saturday, or look at all the other classic menu items at The Rite Place. Personally though I'm a sucker for only going on Fridays because I appreciate their fish fry with a good salad.
Yes, The Rite Place provides a great spot for a Friday Fish Fry and one of my favorite fish fries in Northeast WI simply for the nostalgia you get; plus it tastes good. And a couple of weeks ago my less than one month old son got to enjoy a nap at The Rite Place while we went out to dinner with my wife's family!!
