Sushi in the Shadow of Lambeau (Mashima)

Well I'll be honest, I always knew this place as Nakashima's and I've been there numerous times under that name. And I have not gotten a blog post created yet (as you've realized updating these fell to the wayside for a bit, but I'm trying to get back), and now it's had a name change.

Welcome to Mashima of Japan, and it's the same spot as Nakashima's just with a name change in October 2024!!

Now as I've said I have been here numerous times, but it's been a while. It's not that I forget about it or choose others, it's more so the convenience on where I used to live. I used to live in De Pere and now that I've moved I'm closer to this spot. So instead of going to a spot in East De Pere, I can now consider this spot more frequently. The food is amazing and honestly I think the best thing about this spot as a sushi restaurant is the atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated with many Japanese pieces of artwork and sculptures compared to others in the area so it's more of an experience.

Additionally, one great thing about this spot is that they have an amazing bar area, along with the hibachi option. This is the only hibachi restaurant in Brown County and so if you are looking to have sushi but your friends don't want sushi you can still consider this spot since there are options available. As I go forward in 2026 I will update this whenever I finally make it here again but for now just know I would recommend this spot for a good meal.
