2025 Annual Update
Easily my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant in Northeast WI, and I challenge you to point to a better one. Why would I challenge you? Because Chinese takeout has a place on every family menu list because sometimes you just need that comfort food.

However, ever since we moved from De Pere to Ashwaubenon, I've found that we do not go as frequently as we used to and that makes me sad. Recently thought some friends had a craving and we obliged by picking it up and bringing it to their house for a fun Sunday evening. The food was great, the service was fast, and we had leftovers for several lunches that week haha. Yes, this is a great spot for take-out and I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of what side of the river you live on.

Well, this is one that I don't plan on having pictures for any time because this is takeout food so it's not about the visually appealing nature of the meal, it's about the taste.

As a resident of East De Pere for 9 years, and yes to me it's East De Pere, not De Pere since I was not born there. And it will always remain East De Pere and West De Pere, even though I have since moved to Ashwaubenon. Whoa sorry for the tangent there, but why I started with "as a resident of East De Pere" is because being there I needed a go to Chinese take-out spot for when that craving hits periodically and their was no other place better on the East side of the Fox River than Chef Chen's.

Chef Chen's has an extensive menu which always included egg rolls and crab rangoons as a starter in my household. My wife and I were fans of sesame chicken, pork lo mein, and sometimes we'd get the Kung Pao Chicken for a bit of spice.

Now this is a local spot, located conveniently in the middle of East De Pere and Ledgeview so it's convenient for all. If not familiar, I can tell you it's close to the high school, near Uncle Mike's, Piggly Wiggly, and down the road from Bleu. If you still need assistance finding it, give me a call and I'll help you find the spot.

This is a great option for multiple occasions when you need dinner, but don't want to cook. Here are a couple scenarios that were a favorite for my wife and I:
 - Head to Noon Packers game, and get home by 5 PM, yeah we are tired but need dinner.
 - How about a day skiing at Granite Peak, getting home at 7, and starving.
 - It's cold and rainy and both of us just feeling lazy.
 - A random day when you're just craving good take-out Chinese.

So if you are new to the area or been in East De Pere and the surrounding communities a long time, I must tell you that this needs to be on your list. It's always good to have a close and convenient Chinese take-out spot; so look no further than Chef Chen's.
